HS PROGRAMS

Summer Theme:

2024: Christ is a Firm Foundation  “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised” (2 Samuel 22:2-3)

2023: Get Low in Service to Others “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:26-28)

2022: Suffering Well “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18)

2021: Rejoice! “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4)

Meet your summer Interns!

Riley Butcher

Riley is currently attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota—where he plays Tight End on the Football Team. He is working on completing his Bachelors in Kinesiology. Riley’s future plan is to pursue a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy, eventually working in the field of sports rehabilitation. Riley attended Glencoe Silver-Lake High School where he participated in football, wrestling, and track and field. During his time at Nekton, Riley hopes to gain experience and knowledge within a sports performance setting that will be beneficial to his future. This includes learning to lead individuals through movements and communicating effectively with athletes. Riley is excited to work in the field of sports performance, and build connections with the athletes as they grow their athletic abilities alongside the values athletics has to offer. Other interests Riley enjoys are: golf, pickleball, lifting, walking his dog, and watching movies.

Noah Strickfaden

Noah is currently a Freshman at Dordt University, majoring in Business-Finance, with a potential minor or double major in Human Health Performance. He plays Quarterback for the Dordt football team. Noah attended Central High School in Norwood Young America where he played Football, Basketball, Track and Field, and Golf. Some hobbies he enjoys are yard games (especially Spikeball), hiking, lifting, board games, and watching sports. During his time at Nekton, Noah, hopes to learn the best ways to help and encourage athletes, gain valuable knowledge in sports and neuro-performance, and build relationships with the athletes. Sports have always been a huge part of Noah’s life and he looks forward to helping athletes achieve their goals this summer.

Brayden Johnson

Brayden is currently attending St.John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, where he plays on the Basketball Team. He is working on completing his Bachelors in Exercise and Health Science. Brayden’s future plan is to pursue a Degree in Physical Therapy, eventually working in the field of sports rehabilitation. Brayden attended Hutchinson High School, where he participated in basketball and track and field. During his time at Nekton, Brayden hopes to gain experience and knowledge within a sports performance setting, which will be beneficial to his future career. This includes learning to lead individuals through movements and communicating effectively with athletes. Brayden is excited to work in the field of sports performance and build connections with the athletes as they grow their athletic abilities and grow as people. Other interests Brayden enjoys are: pickle ball, lifting, and watching movies.
